Audio-gd C-2C Vs Sheer Audio HA-006+ (DynaLo)

Between Audio-gd C-2C and Sheer Audio HA-006+ (DynaLo) what you would chose? Make an abstraction on price, you don't know the price of either. Chose on "performance" only!

If you haven't heard both you can still help me with technical details like (the x is more powerful than y because it uses MOSFET... or x is more bright than y because..etc)

There are many dynalo builds out there (glite, gs-1, diy), and it must be someone who can offer a comparasion between these two.

I will use the future amplifier mainly with Sennheiser HD650 (new version) and sometimes with Grado HF-2 (due to discomfort) and the source will be an NuForce uDac.

You can recommend something else of course, but please specify why. Thx

aaa, and I think I can throw HiFiman EF5 ( EF-5 for searchers ) into battle...arrgh! And I thought this one is gonna be easy!

Now I certainly have not heard them, but I imagine that differences between Dynalos are fairly small. Please do correct me if you have heard these.

So, that said, if I am correct, you could take a comparison between the Glite and the C-2C as a comparison between the Sheer and the C-2C.

Yes, you are correct I could take that comparison between Glite and C-2C because I imagine and HOPE the differences would be small (4-5%)

Neither. This looks nicely made and it has two inputs AND a pre-out:

I would pick C2C for these advantages over HA-006:

- balanced inputs (in addition to unbalanced, so you can have two sources)
- option to upgrade the volume pot
- exponential volume control is nice when you have too different impedance headphones
- bigger power supply is always better
- Replica of Krell's "Current Transmission Module" technology sounds cool

Umm it's never easy.

Look, IMO the C2C is still a fad here and we'll see in a year if it is still so highly respected. The dynalo is a tried and tested amp design.

Pick whatever you want. You'll upgrade soon anyway.

But he's right

Allow me to throw the Elekit Tu-882R in as well. My feeling these days is that the tube amps have more potential, due to their upgradability. I was very happy when I was using a Northstar > C2C > HD-600 combo though.

Seeing as Currawong has a lot of experience and is partly responsible for the C2C buzz, I'd place some weight on his recommendations.

I put weight on every comment, a lot of, that's why I am so undecided! I think that C2C thing in my head is there because of Currawong and Skylab!

I'd just like to drop a few words on the HA-006+.

The big honking EI transformer had been replaced by an ultra low noise toroidal transformer, as well as a few other tweaks to lower the overall hum. This was done during the Christmas/New year period, and all orders then were put on hold until I can have all units upgraded to new spec. Which was done on Jan 6th and all the units on hold were shipped out.

Let me know if you guys got any questions regarding the unit.

Thanks

David

Hey David, thanks for the update. I can't wait to hear some impressions from the few who have bought one.
