JVC HP-FX700 - Page 3

what source were you using for them iponderous?

on my ipod they are painful to say the least but on my walkman they sound quite decent. having said that though they aren`t keepers as I`m gonna flog them to offset my January purchase (they were my Dec. phone of the month).

Yes, that was also my experience when using them with the ipod touch. They probably would do better with a warmer sound source to temper the rather stark sound signature. Though I was impressed with their clarity and detail.

They're the brightest and most sibilant IEMs i've ever encountered, making even TF10pro sound like having rolled off treble. I didn't enjoy the uber brightness combo very much via iPhone 3G, but some people might like that, especially coupled with the clean yet hard hitting bass. If the FX700 has a softer treble, more forward mids, and maybe slightly less bass, we might just have an amazingly clean and balanced dynamic IEM.

^^ That would almost be too good to be true.

ditto.. but not at that price.

The fit does look... unpromising.

As to FX500, I have owned two versions: one from the first month of release and another from this year. I wonder if there are manufacturer's differences. The first blocked a lot of outside noise (surprisingly) and had a more laid-back treble. The latter is as described in the FX500 review and impressions thread: open with a sharp treble.

That was my experience as well. Treble was way too prominent. Hurt my ears.

doesn't hurt my ears, but has a fibrously tweaked upper end. Still there must have been differences between the initial FX500 and the final version, or manufacturing differences as the first one I had and second were quite different. That said, I like both very much.

That was also my experience with the FX500. I'd be very interested in the FX700 if it redressed these shortcomings.

Same here.. But I for one will be in no hurry to jump on the initial ordering. I think I'll wait until there's a good deal of impressions to sift through. I'll keep my fingers crossed in the meantime for the upper end to be smoothed out, and the mids to be more properly placed. If those two things are remedied, it may be a winner.

So where can I order the FX500 for 9000 yen?!?

^ ‰¿Ši.com - ƒrƒNƒ^[ HP-FX500 ‰¿Ši”äŠr

But I doubt very much that any of the listed sellers ship internationally due to distribution restrictions.

I doubt I'll even find out with it being all Kanji (?)
