me too. My plan was no more IEM's after the JH13's but as soon as I opened the link I was like wow I could get these, then send them away to ACS and get them to make custom tips for me (my bugbear with the 500's was I found them uncomfortable)

I wonder how they compare against the old fx500 model

Well, its been 2 years since the FX500, so about time if you ask me. If they can sort the cable issues (softer) and perhaps bring mids a bit foreward, they will have a perfect iem.

Very nice! Can't wait for the impressions and inevitable comparisons with the FX500 (and others).

They'll be available in Japan in early February for around ¥30000 (~$328 US).

On an different note, it appears that all of Victor / JVC's newer products, even in Japan, have product codes starting with "HA-" as opposed to "HP-". Not sure if it will make a difference in terms of worldwide availability, but it's something that many have noticed in the past couple months.

A well known tech blog is stating that they will be available in Japan in Feb. Cost $330. Looks like a few sites will carry them as well.

£206 at the current exchange rate. Assuming that nothing much sells at the RRP i'm guessing the retail on these will be around £160 imported?
Technically, the FX700's RRP is "open price"; basically, retailers decide the selling price. The ¥30000 price is just an estimate of what retailers will charge. The FX500 is also listed at open price, with brick and mortar retailers charging around ¥15000 while Amazon and the like charge closer to ¥10000. I presume it wouldn't be that far-fetched to see the FX700 come closer to ¥20000 later in its life.

i will get them if they make te vocals a little bit more full bodied and thick like the ie8 and kill the sibilance issue of fx500 and have a larger soundstage

In reality this means nothing and only indicates (very very slightly) the quality of the driver.
It's fancy numbers of marketing purposes but in practical terms mean nothing as human hearing is 20Hz to at max 22 KHz. If you're a dog or cat, then ok, it matters but not for humans.
