I've read several times this risk of short while unplugging... I'm not sure I understood why but will adopt a locking TRS just in case...

Thanks again Linuxworks !

nice idea, until you blow it up by inserting the phones

you could save space and improve the amp by ditching the "3-channel" and applying well known proper ps routing and grounding practices to 2 boards

dual mono with 2 smaller transformer dual supplies is pretty close to the best that is technically possible

also - although they need more air space or Fe sheilding split bobbin EI have lower pri-sec parasitic C and lower coupling of mains trash than toroids

and yes TRS suck - if you really want the best possible crosstalk # you should use a "balanced" headphone connector that separates R/L channel gnd contacts

Any headphone amp that would blow its brains out from plugging or unplugging the phones I would consider "broken" in to begin with.

You and your proper PS routing and grounding practices!

You're such a wet blanket!

I'm already aware of that but don't wanna go balanced for now... to much of a hassle recabling my cans.

I will always have the possibility to add a 4th board to my b22 and make it balanced... but sincerely hope to end my quest of pure sound before that !

Well, you can get away from the TRS issues without going balanced. You'd still have to reterminate and/or recable, but you don't have to go balanced.
