Instant Messenger Consolidation Thread?

Well I often have random little questions about something simple or about music. And I don't think it is really something worth making a new post about, or I need an answer quick. So I thought hey, most people have/use instant messengers, why not make a thread for consolidating everyone together. I don't think this is against the forum rules but correct me if I am wrong. So I will get things started.

Yahoo:
unl3a5h3d - blink182_artist3(@)yahoo.com

AIM:
unl3a5h3d - unl3a5h3dlb2
XxATOLxX - XxATOLxX

MSN:
unl3a5h3d - blink182_artist3(@)yahoo.com
XxATOLxX - XxATOLxX

I'm sure you won't get any spam at all by posting your IM addresses on an open forum...

You can edit them into your profile and they will be shown underneath your post-count as a little icon which can be clicked. The MSN one is under mine.

I realize this but I just thought it might be an idea. I have seen these on other threads and they worked great.

Try to format your email address so that its not clickable, spammers will get a hold of it and put you on their list. Once its there, you can't really get out of receiving spam.

So it would be like this blink182_artist3(@)yahoo.com

My SN on AIM is the same as my user.

Thanks for the advice.

Heh, I had my AIM address on here a few years ago under my Profile, and random people kept wanting to talk to me. Mostly about headphone-related stuff, but it still annoyed me when they just wanted to keep talking non-stop.

I'd rate this idea as useful as the monthly "How about we get a chat room in here?" thread.

Yeah I was going to suggest that but I had seen many threads related fail, miserably lol.

well on another forum I moderate for a large Uk electronics retailer, we have a thread called count to a million (CTAM). The purpose of this thread is fairly obvious..make a post which adds one to the post count of the thread until we get to a million..currently at 172,179 (world record longest thread? haha).

but what the thread also serves for is a general chit chat thread, for example we arranged a meet in that thread. Its all good fun, lots of banter, there are regulars to the thread etc. and it keeps alot of spam off the board because it goes in that thread.
