so I bought an airline adapter to use my customs on the airplane. first of, there was very audible hiss, attaching the fiio E3 didn't help, only made the hiss louder. apart from that, whenever the PA system comes on, it threatens to blast my customs to bits and render me almost completely deaf. how do you folks do it?

Unless you're listening to movies, no reason to listen through the airline jack. I would try using a higher impedance headphone.
