I am thinking of building my own headphone as a personnal project.
I am new here and would like to get some help from this forum.
I am not a audiophile, just want to make myself my own headphones and if the project goes well, might consider of making a few for gift to friends and family.
All the mechanical parts: Arch, cup, pivots, are not the big deal, I do have access to a cnc machine and i can make those parts.
The big deal is the cup itself, material, volume of the air chamber, selecting good drivers, open or closed, find out a driver manufacturer willing to sell small qty and find out cords manufacturer too. I do have some audio technica ath-m40fs to start from, (i will only use the drivers).
My target is to build a headphone with the same quality sound that can be found in a $150-200 headphones in any stores.
So, once again
any help will be much appreciated.
regards
