That is actually the rare list where I can say I heard every album.

/oops, you said polls, sorry.
yeah blud, that's what I'm talking about! fever ray for life

did you listen to their No.1 record, DJ Sprinkles? I've never heard of it

also, anyone check out their No.7 Ay Ay Ay by Matias Aguayo? I love the Koze remix of his track Minimal. the track Walter Neff on Total 10 is too warm sounding for me though, I tend to prefer the more stark sound of the germans on Kompakt to the warmer electronic sounds of central and south american guys (Villalobos being a huge exception).

Yeah I did and actually preferred the Martin and Shackelton. YMMV of course.

The Matias Aguayo did not work for me at all. I would consider it a very organic sounding album.

Far more reliable lists:

There's stuff I disagree with here, but at least when it's based on aggregated user reviews/ratings across a good variety of genres, I can put it down to opinion.
I find it interesting that the new shpongle gets a lot of high mentions, even though I don't consider it anything exceptional from shpongle, and I happen to be a long-time fan.

But then again, some people seem to like new infected mushroom a lot, whilst I consider if vastly inferior to the old albums. I guess the new shpongle sounds like it has mainstreamed itself slightly at the expense of brilliance. YMMV IMO etc.

First album I've heard from them and I was pretty impressed, must check out their back catalogue then I guess. Relative to everything else this year though, it's easily in my top 5. That's really not saying much though Terrible year, just about every band that I was expecting to deliver disappointed.

Here's some more lists-

Honestly, I don't really like Paste magazine, but it is so nice to see David Bazan get some love because that album is really awesome. Also good to see Thomas Function finally make a list.

Alright, that's about the hundredth list I've seen with Animal Collective in the top 3. I really can't see what's so great about MPP

Surprisingly I liked the Paste list because The Decemberists definitely deserved to be in the top 5, plus Avett Brothers in the top 5 is a win in my book, the new album was breathtaking.

I am not sure what it is but I was not really into AC before, but MWPP blew me away, and I was definitely a believer of the blogs call for album of the year way back in January.

There is another thread on whats coming up in 2010, it is shaping up to be a great year if expectations are held. Lots of long-awaited releases.
