Is the mastering on the LP version as horribly compressed as it is on the CD or does it actually have a little dynamic range?

SEE PROS & CONS. NOTE: The clamping factor will obviously differ from person to person, but I'm surprised to find little mention of it, as it is the sole reason I'd never think twice about...

When I listened to the sound for the 1st time, I was hit by it. I was punched by the not-punchy-bass. I was hoping it would offer much better bass response than SE315.. equals to Klipsch Image...

Can't help you with your question, but god damn every Foo fighters CD is horribly mastered, especially the first CD of In your Honor, it's just unlistenable. Ruins a good band imo.

True, though imo One By One sticks out as terrible mastering as apposed to In Your Honor CD1 which I thought was about on par with the rest (ie bad but not loudness war poster child bad like One By One is).

But One By One on vinyl was mastered differently and sounds far better. It's listenable. Grohl even stated that 1by1 was remastered for the LP. I just haven't heard that Greatest Hits was properly mastered for LP or not. Not willing to spend $25 to get hosed.
