I'm looking for a good quality portable MP3 player and hear these two are pretty good. Have any of you guys experience of either?

....Canada got nothing so far..... 500 dollars for a DAP is a bit much, especially when it's competitors are selling for 300.

I'm considering the same choices, and I think I'm going with the S9. In the US it's a better dollar/GB ratio, and it has impressive SQ, AMOLED, good power output for those higher impedance phones, codec support, gapless, and customization potential.
I'm tired of converting video/weird audio codecs to listen to them on the go, and I'm looking forward to being able to just drag/drop.

I like them both. The S9 seems like a proper multimedia player, has better FM reception (in Australia), different good EQ settings and a cleaner video/image presentation. The X series to me seems more like a historical retro mp3 player. I have all of my favourite electronic albums from the past few years on there and they fit nicely as 'classic' type albums. It's like science fiction. I like the X series more because of the retro classic feel if that makes sense.
