I did not get a nailed down date. They are waiting on a part that is holding the whole thing up. I have my fingers crossed for this month. We can take any form of payment. CC direct or via Paypal.

I was able to drive them with my HeadAmp Pico at CES. Definitely at the upper limit of the Pico's power, but was plenty loud and plenty of viseral bass punch. I can only imagine the T1 would benefit greatly from balanced operation. Nice thing about Beyerdynamics designing the T1 to be very mod friendly.

P.S. Nice to meet you again, Drew.
Yes I had a similiar experience witht he iQube V2. I had to turn the knob about 70%. And had more than enough volume. So they should work with the more powerful portales without an issue. But dont know th effects on battery life yet.

Will you be shipping this to Canada? If it has a modified cable will it make it easier or harder?

The only thing I'm kind of wondering about--the big T1 thread is getting a bit watered down at this point--is how the T1 does large scale classical. Any more impressions?

Drew

I am very interested in your T1 connector Mod. That is a very smart move. Do I have option to chose wire of my choise between drivers and connectors? Thanks.

Also am I able to use regular HD800 cables?

No the HD800 is a different connector. It limits the size of the conductor that can be used thus we went with a better option. I am still waiting on the phones to arrive to confirm the detachable mod will work with this phone. After studying the phones more at CES it looks like there may be an conflict with the detachable connector being too long. As the new design has the driver cup recessed quite a bit and may be in the way to fit the connector. Will know more once the phones arrive and I can open up. The hard wire will not be an issue and any cable and termination option will be available.
If you have paid for a detachable option the difference will be refunded and a hardwired version will be installed. A formal email will go out to all buyers once we have studied the phone.

Thanks. I will keep very close watch on this one. I am also wondering about T1's 6 wire system VS regular 4 wire system.

It is probably a drain wire for the shield. But until I have one in hand I cant know for sure.

Drew,
Have you received your first shipment of T1s? If so, any update on the detachable cable connector? If not, when do you expect them in?

I got 3 this week. They went to the 1st 3 purchasers. I will not be able to do the detachable mod until all the back orders are filled. As I will have to order custom versions without precut holes for the existing cables. The hole is square and my connectors are round. I can still do hard wire recables easily. But the detachable mod will take some time. I will be emailing each person if they ordered a detachable mod to see what direction they wish to proceed at this point.

Does the detachable mod work with other headphones or just for the Beyer? Can I do it with my ATH-AD2000?

No it works with any phone I can stuff the connector in. I should be able to do the Denons. Have not had a chance to add pics yet of the ones I have done. There are Beyer and AKG pictures on the site so far.

I'm interested if you could do the same with the AD2000 (Audio Technica, not Denon )
