FIRST OF ITS KIND
After years of research, our engineers have managed to develop a revolutionary sound converter, a milestone in headphone design. Our new T1 headphone is the first model to break through the one-tesla barrier of magnetic induction. (The unit for measuring magnetic flux density is named the tesla, in honor of one of the world’s greatest visionaries and inventors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. When Nicola Tesla, a contemporary of Eugen Beyer, died in New York in 1943 at the age of eighty-six, he had filed well over 100 patents.) Measured in tesla (T), magnetic induction plays a central role in the development of headphones. It indicates the ability of a sound converter to transform an electrical audio signal into sound waves and thus convert electricity into sound. Featuring twice the sound pressure of standard headphones, a highly effective, innovative driver in the T1 makes it possible to produce high-performance headphones using minimal moving mass in a 600-ohm coil. This system generates currently unequalled impulse performance. (A converter behaves like a vehicle in this respect. The lower the weight and the higher the performance, the greater the acceleration.) The T1 is the first model in a new generation of headphones.

TODAY IS THE FUTURE
The T1 positions itself as a top-of-the-line product and as the star of the Beyerdynamic headphone range from both a technical and a visual perspective. It is faithfully defined by a long-established design language, which, for experts, is synonymous with both quality and wearing comfort. Vivid materials and structures accentuate the high quality of the headphones while still remaining true to a familiar, understated style. T1 proves it is unsurpassed in its class as a result of its aluminum components, a specially woven wire mesh, a leather headband and high-tech acoustic materials. A translucent, non-woven, acoustic material allows a discreet insight into its revolutionary inner workings.
The T1 is the flagship model in the Premium Line 600-ohm impedance products from Beyerdynamic. The currently available DT770, 880 and 990 Premium 600-ohm versions remain an important part of this product range. This new driver technology gives the T1 an enormous boost in efficiency. It provides the listener with almost double the volume as traditional headphones. The increased efficiency also leaves the T1 with greater power reserves for dynamic, undistorted sound and lossless conversion of electric signals into sound waves. The extremely lightweight 600-Ohm voice coil provides transparency and perfect impulse fidelity.

Hi Drew,
first of all..Merry Christmas :-)
can you provide the detachable modification using the stock cable? This could leave some space for a future upgrade.
Thanks

Yes we can do that. Add $100 to the price tag or the Mod.

Drew

Have you had much time to listen and compare to other headphones such as the Edition 8s or the HD800s?

Can you provide a single 4 pin XLR lead instead of 2 x 3 pin.
Thanks

Sure that is no problem. We can do it on stock or upgrade cable.

Do you think the 600 ohm impedence will be a problem for the majority of amp owners?

From what I experienced at CES, while it is a larger load it does not seem to have impedance issues and did not deflate on dynamic passages. It should not pose a problem. But I will need the phones in hand to test with various amps. Hopefully soon.

Thanks for the quick reply. Any luck on a quick test? See, I'm tempted to pick these up at the intro offer. Buying the phones sight unseen with few reviews in the wild doesn't worry me. However, the impedance mis-match issue does. Delays do to real world testing are just part of the game I guess.

Yes, while their impedance is very high, they aren't horribly inefficient.

I was able to drive them with my HeadAmp Pico at CES. Definitely at the upper limit of the Pico's power, but was plenty loud and plenty of viseral bass punch. I can only imagine the T1 would benefit greatly from balanced operation. Nice thing about Beyerdynamics designing the T1 to be very mod friendly.

P.S. Nice to meet you again, Drew.

Do you have any updates to when these will be shipping? Is it still Jan 15th or have they been pushed to later?

Also, do you take credit cards (e.g Amex)? Do you take them through paypal if you don't take them directly? I'm not able to figure this out from your website.
