Where to get budget high quality power cables/strips?

I just ordered a compass and i notice that they have a premium cable that they sell in addition. It seems a bit pricey and i would have to order it from out of country. Is there a good place to buy these things in the US for cheap. I realize i could make my own but for some reason i dont want to make my own a/c power cable, lil risky business imo.

Btw, what are your recommendations on surge protectors. I noticed my home theater in my room lacks some potential when it goes through the junk power strip i have. Should I just pick up a monster cable circuit breaker or something like that? I think would be on the cheaper side of things. Any other ideas?

You'll find a heap of great quality stuff on ebay being sold from in the states.
Eg, both John and I used Belden 19364 cable for out power cables / ICs, which is availiable at places like here by the foot:

They also sell it in 40ft rolls which is what I got.
You'll find oyaide/furutech/ect clone connectors on there as well.
Go nuts =)

Monoprice sells some pretty thick power cables for cheap. Don't know if they are going to blow your mind like higher end cables are supposed to. Partsexpress is also a source for what you are looking for.

Almost every piece of Monster Cable product is overpriced. I have found some great APC stuff on sale poking around the web and watching sales flyers for local stores.
