Comments on my bugle phono BOM/ recommend me some RCA jacks

Thread Starter
I recently made plans to get into vinyl some day, and I was looking into the bugle phonostage, and I ended up making a BOM.

Well, seeing as it's only ~$30, I think am going to go ahead and build one..
My mother has a turntable that hopefully works (I'll probably check that it works before ordering), and I figure I'll want one soon or later anway.

I've spent too much time on this now not to go ahead and build it =p

anyway, here is the mouser BOM.
There are two listings that are digikey part numbers, because I have these parts left over from a CMOY order.
I am building it on a protoboard, the same one the CMOY uses. I think it'll fit, but I might have to get creative with some of the capacitors.

The stock BOM, schematic are here:

Code:

Now for the questions:
  • There isn't any reason I can't use that 470uF from the CMOY build in place of the 220uF, is there? (C7/C10)
  • I am not really sure what C8/C11 does. My friend says switch bounce.. which may be relevant in this really low noise type device? I am using a capacitor very similar to the stock here, are there any recommendations?
  • I need some RCA jacks for both my bantam and this, any recommendations?
  • OPA2132's are expensive, is there anything else you guys can recommend I could use? I think there might be some threads about this one, but information is really disorganized.. Might have to take another look.
  • Any inexpensive switch recommendations?
  • any other thoughts?

  • I think those would be fine. It is C7/C10 BTW

Oops, well, least you knew what I meant.

The C8/C11 are bypass caps for the C7/C10? I've never seen capacitors used in a PSU like that. Does that mean I should get some WIMA's instead?
505-MKP20.1/100/5 should be good.

yeah... bit too rich for this little project.

A) many more expensive opamps can be obtained via samples
B) I think I more or less meant value per $.
C) I have the OPA2132's, because I am doing it on a protoboard, and the OPA2132's are less likely to have problems, supposedly.
D)oh, and I am aware that there are very expensive opamps... but when opamps are half of the cost, it seems expensive..

I need to look into this more, I think.

seems that my mother's turntable doesn't work afterwards.

And it's a technics SL-220. From what I can tell from reading other forums, it's not necessarily worth it to repair.
