[*GONE*] Free-ish Vinyl(s)

These will take some work to clean off (definitely some of them anyways), and may have scratches, and some I don't even know what/who artists they are. So... my loss is your gain! Just pay for Media Mail shipping (please). You can throw in a buck or two for the disc itself if you want, but that's not necessary.

Let me know if you have any questions,

* Note, "2d" means a two-disc set.
* I have paper sleeves for most, and cardboard for the 7-inch, but it is *not* gauranteed to come with an inner or outer sleeve.

List as of 1/16/2009 ~10:00am PT
[*GONE*]

Thanks to everyone for your interest!! And as i've said in PMs to those who received any records from me, please keep me posted about them, i'd like to know if they play OK and all that

Cheers

Bump!

I feel a bit silly because I don't have a turntable either. I've been thinking about getting into vinyl lately. Will probably pick a turntable up during the summer.

That said, I would be willing to take the Pink Floyd and definitely the Boom Boom Satellites.
Is this the Boom Boom satellites we are talking about?

Cause it seems weird that you'd somehow obtain a vinyl made in the 90s from japan for free >_>. I guess they do have an american label, but still.

Also, the "78" is the rpm they run at. They are mono records and are really old.

If they are really small, they are probably singles, and not 78s.

Oh, and I have no idea how you would ship them. I would say put them into a nice big box with lots of peanuts?
Cutting cardboard and padding each album wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Interested in Wish You Were Here and a couple of others, are you willing to go through the hassle of international shipping?

I'll take all of the Pink Floyd.

If they're still available...

Just a quick update, I probably won't be able to get back to everyone for about a week or so, family is visiting from L.A. until the 28th. Sorry I work Sun/Mon though and then have three days off, so I will absolutely be able to respond mid-week next week at the latest.

Although you're gone, I am still going to post.

I will take the Pink Floyd's if drclaw doesn't get them. Thanks.

I got a PM with very awesome shipping tips from a fellowFi-er, so i'm good in that regard now

Regarding the albums, if they are in bad shape i'd rather just eat the shipping costs... i'm more than anything looking to get rid of these; having them sit around my house gathering dust is not cool compared to someone being able to enjoy them Besides they were almost all free lol so spending a few bucks to ship them is no big deal at the end of the day.

To All: Can I get your shipping info and just mail them to you? I figure that's better cause then you can decide how much you wish to reimburse me for (if any) once they arrive. Let me know what you think on that. If you wish to communicate via email instead I can provide that.

On the Pink Floyd albums, I have a transaction for WYWH and DSOTM pending, so i'll have to LYK on those but any other albums I can send out as soon as I get your address(es)

-----
@jwjw , International is fine. Do you want me to state a value or label as Gift? No preference on my end
post #9 of 49
oh, thats sad, I thought I'd get first dibs on the pink floyd since I responded first.
Can't complain when it's free though.

anyway, I'll certainly still take the Boom Boom Satellite LP. I'll PM you my info

EDIT: PM sent

Thank again =)

I'll take these if possible. Let me know what needs to be done. Also, once I get them, I can make some vinyl rips for you of the albums you actually want so that you can enjoy the music.

The rips will be made on VERY HIGH quality analog equipment. Please see my profile for that.

Also, I'm in Southern California....so maybe your folks can bring the vinyl back with them if its not too inconvenient.

I have a vinyl cleaning machine I can use to clean the gunk off

Thanks for doing this!! Can't say no to vinyl....just too weak.

The following I purchased from a local Goodwill (thrift store) so I think they will probably be in better shape than most of mine. If not, at the very least they (mostly) all have their original covers/etc:

TCHAIKOWSKY ~ Alfred Wallenstein
Romeo+Juliet, Nutcracker Suite

BEETHOVEN ~ Josef Krips / London Symphony Orchestra
#1 in C Major op21, #8 in F Major op35

THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER (Oh man I love this group!)
selftitled? (1975)

STEPPENWOLF
Live [2d] (cover has a wolf face and lettering is like brass thumbtacks or something)

CHICAGO
selftitled? [2d]

GRAND FUNK RAILROAD
We're An American Band

GEORGE GERSHWIN ~ Jerome Lowenthal & Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra
Piano Concerto in F, Rhapsody in Blue

FOREIGNER
selftitled? (1977)

MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR & the Philadelphia Orchestra
Greatest Hits vol 3

ELTON JOHN
Greatest Hits

ELTON JOHN
Victim Of Love

GEORGE GERSHWIN ~ The Philahormanic Orchestra
An American In Paris

This one sounds like it'd be REALLY cool, so if somebody is willing to rip it for me after me mailing it to them, that would be awesome:

WENDY CARLOS
Switched On -- Brandenburgs ~ the complete concertos

I think this would be a good idea.

Send me the vinyl. I'll make 24bit/96Khz rips (or 16bit/44.1Khz) and at least you can you have the music on them And my vinyl rips are absolutely mind blowing (don't want to toot my horn too much...hehe).

In return, I'll keep the vinyl if thats ok with you.

Let me know.

Thanks for doing this. At least this way, we both get something out of this.

That's what she said!!! hahaha.

Ahem sorry can't help myself

There are a couple already spoken for from the list above, but mostly all should be avail. I will hopefully be able to respond more completely sometime this week. And thank YOU for willing to do this!! Seriously, it will be pretty awesome to have HQ rips (is that what it's called for Vinyl too, like with CDs?) of the albums! Very cool of you
