A smaller form factor speaker amplifier

Thread Starter
My brother is looking for one for christmas... doesnt currently have much space for the hi-stack sized stereo amp.

Ive seen the bantam XC which also has the headphone amp he wants, and various t-amps without one, but I was wondering if there was a better solution that any of you knows about. Are there decent chipamp/gainclone amps to buy ready made, or is it likely that we would have to DIY one to get a small speaker amp?

The Parasound zamp is pretty small at 9"x10". The older version are even a little smaller at 9"x7". It has a headphone jack, but no volume control.

Parasound Z amp is good, so i hear.
NuForce is another smallish amp.
You may be able to find an old Carver cube amp on Ebay possibly.
