Unfortunately this is the only site that I have also found and I believe that the problem will be the same with every original battery we can found.
Even if a battery is not used its life decreases with time, we have to find an equivalent battery that was recently made, this will be not easy.

Luckily, I have not placed my order.

That's all very good to know about this replacement battery business. Glad my original batch s:flo2 16GB version T51 from MP4Nation is still going strong! Now to find a source of replacement batteries...

Could someone post a pictute of the battery, and the voltage information, etc, for it?

Size:

85x55x3 [mm]

Voltage: as far as I remember was something non-standard. I should disassemble player and check, but right now do not have time for that. If any one can check I would be glad, if not I will check myself on weekend and post results here.

Mine Galaxy S3 battery have 5,5mm thickness. IMHO to much, closing player could be tricky/impossible.

The Note 1 battery have the same thickness as the S3?

Here's a prayer to the Mod Gods(tm) to figure this battery thing out.

I'm not sure how long I've had my S:flo 2 ... maybe going on a couple years now? ... but it's still running perfect ...

The battery life is not what it used to be ... about 5 to 6 hours max as opposed to 8 as it were in the beginning. And so, I hope folks figure out a way to get more juice to these things before they die. I'd sure hate to have to use some other player... .. since I haven't heard anything to compare. Damn dual DAC, cheapo s:flo 2 has made a genuine portable music snob of me.

Best kept secret in portable audio if you ask me.

Thank You for posting the specs (specifically battery details, and the tear down image. I was not happy contemplating opening my s:flo2 again (prying it apart always hurts my fingernails & nailbeds) plus I find it rather tricky and seem to forget the "right" way to do half of it between times. Why have I not written it down yet, LOL?!?!

Yeah, I'm wondering if one of the Cameron Sino batteries that are still being produced and sold for the iRiver H120/140 units might fit the bill. I know the max capacity is 2200maH, but I 'd need to check voltages and stuff, it isn't solder on, it has a plug, but If it is the right config, the plug could always be detached... Food for thought.

Should any 3.7 v battery work? Some of T51 have two soldered small size battery. So, if 2200 ma battery is used, should it work but with shorter running time?

Maybe this battery on ebay can fit in ?

For me yes, just less running time, but surely greater than a two year old 2500 battery :)

About that battery replacement:

http://www.ownta.com/original-teclast-t51-mp4-player-built-in-lithium-battery-replacement.html

DO NOT BUY IT.

I receive it 2 months ago, it was dead. I tried and test everything to make sure of that before wrote reclamation, described problem clearly and fully and everything that I receive was pointless questions like "Can you kindly offer us a video?" and sentences similar to "We will check with the sales team first and then get back to you asap."  interchangeably. 2 months later I still do not get replacement or refund.

I DO NOT recommend that store as I'm pretty sure, that batteries in their stock are all dead due to oldness.
Person I had contacted to was "Vicky L, Ownta Service Team" and it was most unprofessional and useless customer contact person I had ever seen in mine life.

Have anyone tracked down some other source of replacement batteries for T51 / S:flo2 ?

@Migou67:  Thanks for digging up that invaluable piece of info. What a shame they (ownta.com) are selling worthless pieces of kit... sad. And worse, that drivel posing as acutal "customer service" speak, and behavior... yikes!

Well, I suppose we're all going to have to find other alternative methods of providing power to our T51/s:flo2 units then...

I hope my battery will hold power until April, I hope to replace my S: flow2/T51 by the new Fiio X3 ...

He looks really good !
