booda, why isn't it a good pairing with full-size phones? maybe with some of the harder to drive phones, but the sony hp's the OP has should be no problem to drive.

Check out xplay -- not free but worth it. Your iPod comes up like any other removable disk when you use it (you must have Media Player 11 installed).

Here's a different option. I used this guy on ebay to purchase 2 modified creative ZVMs with 120GB drives and I am extremely happy with both units. I've had them about a year now and all is working great. I believe he also updates the battery to increased capacity. He is currently offering HDD upgrades to 80GB but email him to see if he will get you what you REALLY want.

Actually yamiPOD works on both Macs and PCs, just I think XPLAY is better on the PC.

You are looking for read/write (to/from) correct, without iTunes, yes? That's yami and xplay.

If you only want to go iPod --> Mac there are many others.
