Sony E-340 or SanDisk Sansa Fuze MP3?

Hi,
I want an inexpensive mp3 player that's not an ipod. I have it down between 2. The Sony Walkman E-340 Series 8 GB Video MP3 Player and SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB Video MP3 Player. Mostly I will use it for audio and heard both sound really good. I'm not sure about the ease of use of the interface on either. Which one would you go for and why?

I was in the same boat when ordering a DAP for my wife for Christmas. I own a Sony S series and a Sansa Clip. I wanted to buy her a Fuze so I could compare the SQ (my own selfish needs). In the end though I decided to go with the Sony because I prefer the SQ to the Clip, which to me seems grainy (even with high bit rate files). I know the E series may not sound as good as the S, but since the Clip and the Fuze are supposed to be on the same level, I figured I already knew what it would sound like. I haven't listened to the E yet, but I charged it last ngiht and put a bunch of albums on it for my wife. I might take a listen tonight. If I do, I 'll let you know my thoughts. I will tell you that I do not feel buyers remorse over picking the Sony over the Fuze though.

P.S. You can still get free shipping and delivery before Christmas from Amazon. Spend the extra $6 and get the 16Gb:

Fuze v.01....

cuz you can rockbox it. Then it is one of the 2 finest DAP i have heard. 2nd to the s:flo2 (Teclast T51)...

rockbox on the v1 fuze is pretty nice and you can up the memory to a max of 24gb(8gb internal+16gb microsdhc) for now..more when the 32gb card comes out. The stock firmware would be pretty crappy for a lot of people however but it's still not bad if you dont rockbox it depending on how tolerant you are and if you need gapless playback and other stuff.

No idea about the sony tho.
