I just ordered a pair of TripleFi's on eBay. I've read all the horror stories with the crappy stock cable falling apart. I don't want to be buying new cables every few months. I also don't want the sound to be changed at all in the slightest. I don't want the treble to be smoothed out.
I just want something that is going to preserve their exact natural sound, but a more durable cable, so I don't have to keep changing it all the time. I think a clear sleeve of the cable would look really cool. So if anyone is interested in making me one, I will pay them via paypal. I live in Rochester, Michigan. Or if you could refer me to someone or a website.
I heard the Westone ES cable may change the sound a bit? Is this true? If I wanted to do it on my own, could I just buy the ES cable from the westone store and snip the prongs a pinch with wire-cutters? Or is there some heavy duty work involved?
Or Can I just buy a pair of the Westone cables and hook up to my Triple.Fi's? I plan on having these rebuilt to my custom ear impressions next week and want to get rid of this stock cable.
