Google images or Discogs.com

Although I don't always manage to find them that big, I always try.

You're right, that's a great resource for the more obscure albums.

I use itunes album art because most are all over 500x500. I have itunes download the art and then I cright click on a song and copy the album art off its tag and then I clear the downloaded album art and then I go back to get info and paste it so it can be embedded in the tag.

Of course I did. My post wasn't directed at you (obvious by the inclusion of: if you don't have a lot of obscure albums) but at other people who are wondering how to tag their albums (like ricksome in this very thread). Instead of doing everything manually, my method will save them a lot of time. Just trying to help, geez.

Also, what do people mean by tiny? I don't have any album art 100x100 or smaller. Most is 300x300 to 650x650. Sure, you can browse google images for large artwork, but then you're back to doing everything manually. I'm not stopping anyone, I'm merely providing a faster and automated method of doing things.

Edit: I just checked. I have 353 albums. 225 of them have 500x500 or larger (40 of those 650x650 to 1400x1400). 342 are 300x300 or larger. That leaves only 11 album art ranging in size from 160x160 to 300x300. Amazon is not too bad after all.

Next step is go uninstall iTunes and get a good media player/iPod manager.

I've had to scan around 50 CD covers because I couldn't find any images on line. I still have around 200 albums, out of 2800, that have either no artwork, or incorrect artwork.

Since I started ripping with dbPowerAmp, I try to imbed the art when I rip, which dbPowerAmp does. It somehow finds artwork for 90% of what I've ripped, although some is too small. It also finds 1000x1000 artwork.

dbPowerAmp is the best program ever!

I still spend a lot of time searching for art work. But, once I find it, it's a lot quicker to put it into the dbPowerAmp artwork box than adding it to files that already exist.

One thing I've noticed though is that if I paste artwork into dbPowerAmp it becomes much larger in size. It almost looks like dbPowerAmp is converting it to a bit map. Since I noticed this, I've been saving the artwork to my hard drive and adding it from the file. It stays the original size that way.
