Life continues to change, and it looks like I need to change with it. I am quitting headphones altogether (well, the expensive ones anyway) and I am selling my last remaining treasures to fund my recent speaker rig purchase.
Here is a pair of semi-vintage RS-1 in beautiful condition, no chips or dings on wood anywhere... Sounds absolutely beautiful as well. This is the pair I've been holding onto after going through several other pairs, and I think these semi-vintage RS-1 are something special compared to the new production versions.
I particularly dig the rounded cable cutouts on the metal frame...
This pair will come with a pair of bowls and a specially modified pair of flats that, after experimentation and many destroyed precious flats, I feel provide the best balance between stock flats and bowls. With this pad (and my ears, at least) the openness, tonal balance, and impact all come together in the most coherent way.
