Jeez,
just pulled the trigger on a T1 (pre order) from Moon Audio, re-terminate with a 4 pin XLR. This will be my first high end headphone... Funny enough, I have no idea about the sound, just read some reviews...finger crossed!

Fingers crossed indeed! I'm sure it'll be pretty damn nice though, sexy looking drivers too.

Wow, aggressive, I like it. Good luck with the new headphones - look forward to hearing your impressions (especially vs. your K701!).

What's the 4-pin termination for? Are you planning on getting a balanced setup?

Yes AmanGeorge... Ah, I still need to update the profile: out K701, in balanced DT880 and Little Dot MKVII

Congrats. I can't wait for more info about these. I have a feeling they're going to be something special.

What's estimated delivery time?

I'm also interested in ETA. Maybe we should start betting on which Head-Fier will be the first to receive his Teslas.

Once the delivery date comes around, I hope you'll treat us to a detailed box-opening and listening thread.

I'll do my best, although I'm not an expert, and I'm not as experienced as some of you. Also I'll be able to do an A/B test only against a DT880.

Aman, I know u like the K701 for classical. To my ears this is how the T1 differs from the K702:

1. T1 has a slight emphasis on the upper bass and mid-bass.... bowed double bass sounds meatier on the T1. K702 actually sounds more accurate, in terms of resolution and pitch, but lacks some of the fleshiness of the T1.

2. Both headphones have the exact same resolution. I just do not buy the logic "I hear things on the T1 which I never heard on other hps"

3. The K702 highlights female voices, but does not beautify the rest of the mid-range to the same extent.

4. The T1 has a slight dip in the upper mids and smooth sweet treble.

5. K-702 upper mid-low treble transition can sound edgy occasionally.

6. K-702 seems to extend further in the highs.

7. K-702 seems to have a much larger soundstage and a more 3D-ness to its presentation.

8. T1 bass has greater impact, but there is a slight soft bulginess about the bass lines and ochestral bass drums sound a bit thick and smeared.

9. K-702 bass is slightly lower than neutral, but highly resolved and super tight at all times.

Which one do you like for classical and in what ways?

I am quite happy with the DT880/600, which have been recabled with Zombie_X's Nucleotide.  Sold the T1 about six weeks after originally assuming ownership and haven't looked back.  To me, the T1 lacked the high- and low-frequency extension of the DT880/250/2003, and even of the DT880/600.  : )

Pat... why don't you give the HD800 a try?
