I know this is a crazy question, but is it possible to play conventional paper-&-pencil RPGs solo? I'm really into the cyberpunk & post-apocalyptic stuff, but don't really know how to go about finding cool people to play with

You would be playing against yourself. LOL. I have played with a core group of 4 guys for 25 years now. I just got back to it after a year off do to my jobs rotating schedual. We still play at least once a month.

Well, it helps if you have multiple personalities.

But you don't have to view it as playing against yourself. It's more like playing with yourself.

Surely the interwebs would be a good place to meet people with your similar interest? It isn't really all that fringe or anything.

Heh. Good point(s). I will poke around on Meetup.com and such, maybe there's one around my areabouts.

And djphatp, 25 years? Wow. I guess I could say almost the same for computer games, so maybe you just have a better imagination and dedication to gaming than I do

Well truthfully, sometimes when we get together to play it just seems like we just shoot the **** more than play, It helps that the guys i play with have good chemistry. And our DM has done some writing for Dragon magazie and even has wrote some modules for sole roll player companies.

I was always a little interested in D&D and Shadowrun, but pretty much everyone I knew who was even remotely interested was too weird and/or unhygienic for me to want to hang out with them.
