You have a very good moderate powered amp or integrated amp. I have some very good high end speaker cables. Let's talk.

Sonoran Desert -Plateau Series Speaker Cable – 8’ 10” Pair Aprox $900 retail

Pricing and other info available at: Sororan Audio-Video Wire Products by Star Sound Technologies

Please no discussion in this thread, PM me for questions or ideas for trade.

What I have for sale is a custom 8 foot 10 inch pair that is in excellent condition. The cables are stiff and heavy as you would expect. They have silver plated copper spades that are in excellent shape, normal marks from tightening them down excepted.

You have tried all sorts of speaker cables over the years yet none seem to have smoothness without sacrificing detail, nor do they have the realistic dynamic impact, or deep but tight low end. And none seem to give you all of this without messing up the critical midrange.

I have been in your shoes and tried tons of speaker cables. They all sound a bit different and radically affect the sound you hear from top quality audiophile systems. I have tried Cardas, XLO, Audioquest, Monster (way back when there was nothing else), Tara, Nordost, AlphaCore/Goertz, Kimber, Bolder, Analysis Plus, VH Audio, Audience, DH Labs, Purist, Straightwire, and Harmonic Tech. None of the one I tried sounded as balanced and as dynamic as the Sonoran. Are there better sounding cables out there, yes. I liked Prana Wire and some others that were 3 to 5 times the price of the Sonoran.

The Sonoran gets depth and space right, and in the right system the dynamics are to die for. Highs are clean and clear with no artificial peaks to make your system sound hyper detailed, just pure natural sound.

How do they do it? Well, they use micro bearing steel. Tiny steel balls around the quad shielded conductors to keep out any airborne EMI or RFI. This acts as an inert dense field to dissipate both airborne resonances and internal electromechanical resonances. From where I sit, I think we have two things going on that most cable manufacturers don't pay enough attention to. One is the electromagnetic field and capacitive field surrounding the conductor. A good dielectric helps but surrounding that with a dense inert type field like the micro bearing steel helps with whatever nasties we might have occurring in the wire itself. And two the elimination of RFI or EMI from getting into the system through a long antenna like wire like speaker cables. From what I have learned, RFI levels in your house can be very high, especially if you run Wireless for your computer. RFI can sound like a digital edge or glare being added to the music. Take it away and you realize that what you thought was more defined highs with maybe a bit of an edge are really RFI nasties making the highs appear that way. When they are gone you suddenly relax and enjoy the music instead of it keeping you a bit on edge about how good your system is except for that little edge. And if you think that is a benefit, you have to hear how natural female vocals sound. Pure and sweet with no artificial edge at all.

You probably have never heard Sonoran wire and may have never heard of the brand. Do some research on Audioasylum and the starsoundtechnologies websites. I think you will find there are a few people who realize that these cables are among the best available for a reasonable price (if that exists in the high end anymore).
