Gaming not intended. Viewing distance 2.5 meters to 3 meters. Any model for around 600 bucks?

Pioneer or Panasonic for plasma TV's, as long as you're not gaming. What's your viewing distance?

No gaming intended. Viewing distance: Something like 2-2.5m. Any model to look at at a 800-1000 bucks budget?

Panasonic plasma always come to my mind first when I think about great value plasmas. Their plasmas are hard to beat in terms of price/performance.

For that distance I'd get a 42". 32" will be a bit small as you've got black borders which reduces screen size considerbly.

+1 for Panasonic plasmas. At 3 meters viewing distance, I'd go with 46" minimum. Plenty of specific model for the price advice to be found at avsforum.

I've got a 50" about 7-8" and it's great. 1080p material is great and you should be that close, little point having a 32" 1080p screen and you're 10 meters away.

If you're looking to BD I'd definetly buy a 1080p set. Also SD scaling to 1080p can look great just depending on several factors. DVD's look great as do channels with low video compression. I wouldn't buy a 720p set now.
