Portable Gear Set_up.

Hey MusicHead(s).

First post which is long overdue. I have been directed to Head_Fi from google to often not to join the community. So after hours of debating to invest in a decent* portable sound system, I might have found the right set-up.

Music has always been a source of freedom, this is way it must be listened to in it's entirety. I have been editing my music collection for some time now. Using X lossless decoder, QuickTime 7.6.2 to convert mostly lossless / flac files to Apple lossless audio files. To save some space, but still have the kbps quality I enjoy.

So now the Holidays are near and I have money saved to invest into new audio equipment. Below is my set-up after some research, via Head_Fi. Let me know what you all think, I appreciate the help.

I know it isn't the best, but this will be my first plunge into a better audio experience. I chose to be as potable as possible, due to the fact I travel frequently (This is why I went with in ear can(s), over covering can(s). Oh' and I am addicted to consumerism, hence apple (ipod) over cowon / sony / samsung.

iPod nano (4th Generation)
Micro Elite SCSCag LOD
VIABLUE T6s Rca plugs
(VIABLUE neon sleeve for cables)
Basic ipod to av cable (I think FiiO makes these)
Klipsch IMAGE S4

I believe this is all that is needed. Let me know if I am missing anything.
Also a cheaper variation I might lean towards.

iPod nano (4th Generation)
FiiO E5 Portable Headphone Amplifier
Klipsch IMAGE S4

*Note_ My musical taste is Electronic, Instrumental Hip Hop, IDM, Trip Hop.
Artist: STS9, Blue Sky Black Death, Flying Lotus, J Dilla, *Tipper (if you haven't listened to this with your rig I would advice finding Tipper album: surrounded)

Thanks all for the read.

You probably don't need to get something as expensive as the Micro Elite LOD considering that it's going to be feeding a FiiO...

iPod nano (4th Generation)
FiiO E5 Portable Headphone Amplifier
Klipsch IMAGE S4

iPod nano (4th Generation)
Fiio E1 line out + amp all in one
Klipsch IMAGE S4

The bottom one would probably sound a little better but I don't know if the E1 works on nano's

*Update

Looking into _
iPod nano (4th Generation) / SendStation iPod Pocket Dock Line-Out Mini-USB / Yuin PK2

This set_up looks good, but not sure if the sound will be there..

Let me know what you all think.
Simple / Travel worthy / good sound is my ultimate goal.

Thanks all for the words of wisdom.

i advice you to make a thread in the in ear monitors forum and tell us your prefered sound signature(clear highs, bassy iems..)and i am sure you will got alot of help.i know that the source is important, but i think if you invest in IEMs without any amp,you will be more pleased.
