Hooray For Crappy Weeks!

Thread Starter
So far this week has been pretty lousy. On Monday, I got the results of an ultrasound back and apparently I have a lesion of some sort on the left side of my thyroid. I now have to make an appointment with an oncologist for further tests. The ultrasound also revealed that the right side of my thyroid is missing. It's just not there.

On Wednesday I had a painful visit to the dentist and found out I have to go back two more times. I then found out that one of my co-workers in my department is being laid off despite the fact the we are understaffed and overworked.

To make matters worse, today at work I found out that due to a re-organization, they will probably be moving me to a different department and I will be reporting to someone else after 20 years of reporting to the same boss. I am the only one in my department this is happening to and frankly, they can't afford to lose me.

Despite all this I'm in a surprisingly good mood and I'm not too concerned about any of it.

That's a terrible run of bad news. Hang in there!

Good news is, next week couldn't be worse! Also, even though we fixate on it, try to take care what you have control over, and make the best of what you can't control. I hope it goes well for you.

Good luck with everything! Hopefully this bad run is over for you. Would it be ironic to wish you Happy Holidays?

I feel your pain, zj. Yesterday, at 31 years old, I had my first tonic-clonic seizure, and will be going for a CT scan and EEG as soon as they can squeeze me in. If I'm lucky it's just a one-time occurrence brought on by who knows what; if I'm unlucky it's epilepsy or, worse, a brain tumour. In any event, I no longer have a driver's license and likely will not get it back for a year, assuming no recurrences. May we both have positive outcomes!!!

Sure hope everything turns out fine, and that next week will bring less stories to report.
Best wishes!

Sorry to hear that, zotjen and acidbasement. I had some health issues this past year that took me completely by surprise, and screwed my life up pretty badly. Just try to keep doing the things you really enjoy, and do your best to deal with and/or ignore the things that aren't going so well. Good luck to you both!
