A bit above, but the AD700 w/ Zalman clip-on mic.

Probably the best. Most headsets aren't well respected here.

What Zalman Mic is that? I can't find any Zalman mics on U.K sites.

Don't know why. They seem to have worse SQ than plain headphones.

Amazon works in the UK, but if he buys anything from Amazon.com, it'll ship overseas, which is expensive (I've bought a couple items in the US from Amazon.co.uk)

hmm you could probably get a used pair of AD700's in the for sale/trade forums. I'm not sure if Amazon.com will ship to the UK but that $91 is approximately £56 + postage which might work out about £70-75, hoping you don't pay customs.

Other options would be Sennheiser HD555's they are not bad at all for a start.
I forgot to mention the Goldring DR150 they are cheaper than the sennheiser hd555's to which they've been compared with, some prefer the goldring DR150. They are cheap about £40

Like the AD700 they all require mic's. They are lower end audiophile headphones but people regard them a lot better for gaming then the so called "gaming headsets"

Ok thanks! Do any of you know of a good alternative to the Zalman mic? I can't find anywhere in the U.K that sells them, nor can I order one from Amazon.com (they just say it can't be shipped to this country - weird huh?)

Bought the AD700. Should be here tomorrow.

I'm using the onboard Realtek ALC 1200 on my Asus P5Q Pro motherboard at the moment; should I get a soundcard to go with my AD700? If so, which ? I have no idea.

Well, you could go the sports broadcaster route, and have a mic sitting on the desk in front of you. I did that for about a year, before I bought a headset.
