I want to send someone in the Netherlands a Christmas gift and it is much cheaper ($25) for me to have it shipped straight from Amazon.com, rather than shipping to me and then to him from me. If I have it marked as a gift, and gift-wrapped etc., does anyone know if the customs will still hit it with full taxes since it is being shipped directly from an e-tailer? The customs taxes would probably be about $40, charged to him, and I just think it is so rude to be given a gift with a bill for $40!
I've been searching online and just can't find a direct answer. I thought with all the int'l shipping of headphones that goes on here, someone might have some experience with this.
