Although I’ve tried my clip amp’d, just for the fun of it, I see no real need to run the clip with a portable amp, what headphones are you trying to drive?

saw ppl wrote here ie8+nurforce icon's a good combination with iPod, will it benefit with clip?

The IE8 sound perfectly fine right out of the Clip. An amp just adds bulk and leaves the sound as-is or makes it worse, IMO.

Personally I have not tried the ie8’s yet, but have two friends that own them and they both swear by them and say they sound great un-amp’d. They are only 16 Ohms, so IMHO I don’t think you need to amp them with any DAP.

It helps some with my cmoy. I could hear the biggest difference on the drums in the intro of Steve Miller's Take The Money and Run. The bass drum had slightly more punch. Unless you've got something hard to drive or something really hissy, you really don't need an amp with the Clip+ (probably the same with the Clip, but I just have the Clip+).
