Devin Townsend has released ten albums in the last decade, and that's just solo. Almost all of it's really good IMO. Check out his two newest, "Ki" and "Addicted!". If you're not a fan of metal you may want to steer clear. Strapping Young Lad, his former band, has been classified as "extreme metal". They're got four albums in the 2000's as well.

A band that "peaked" in the 2000's would qualify in my mind, for me Rush peaked between '74 to '82. That's not to say I don't like stuff outside of that scope, I love their new album; a lot of the old Rush is in it, but they're past their prime.
