Hearing/Ear Problems Due to Head-Fi-ing

Hey all,
I've been experiencing some ear problems lately, and am hoping that it's not due to my headphone fixation. Since moving into my apartment, the only time I ever listen to anything has been via headphones. There are literally no speakers in my apartment. I listen at a pretty healthy volume to videogames, movies, television (via Hulu), and music, for a sizable portion of the day (I'd say anywhere between four and eight hours).

Now, I do have a history of ear infections, as well as a family history of hearing problems (my mother and maternal aunt are both legally deaf and wear hearing aids), so I'm definitely not pinning the ear pains I've been experiencing on headphone usage. At least not yet.

So, this got me thinking, and now I'd like to hear from you guys. Do you believe that your Head-Fi-ing has negatively affected your hearing?

No. If you listen at appropriately low volumes, it should not affect your hearing at all. If you are foolish, have magical thinking, and are one of those who think that listening at high volumes won't affect you, you are pretty much guaranteeing you'll get hearing damage, though it might not be noticeable to you until it's too late.

I do not think Head-Fi-ing have negatively affected my hearing. But then again I am very aware of the possible risk and keep the volume down.
Cause high volume over time certainly can damage your hearing.
