Low static noise from IEMs

Hi,

Just picked up a pair of my first IEMs, the klipsch s4's. Besides the great audio, I noticed when the music wasn't playing there was a very low volume static noise. With the song paused, when I turn the volume to 0 on my ipod, the static suddenly goes away. I notice this on both my ipod and bro's zune. Is this normal ad goes away after burning them in, not a good seal, or just a bad pair?

Thanks

Typically low impedance and highly sensitivity iem’s show the background hiss from portable players. AFAIK the S4’s are 110db spl/mW and 18 ohm impedance. You can either try a portable amp, which I don’t think will eliminate the hiss with those phones and would be expensive or you can add a resistor adaptor to add impedance, which would reduce or eliminate you from hearing the hiss. Try something like this if your players can drive 75 ohms.
