So I'm down to 3 headphones. I need to pick one. Thats where you come in.
Background info:
I will use these to listen to my Ipod. No amp, just plugged into the ipod.
I listen to mostly indie music and some rap.
I will use these mostly on the train, walking around or in the library.

- Sony Mdr-v6
- Audio Technica ES7
- Audi Technica ATH-M50

heard any of those but the ATH-<60 is highly regarded on this board.

even though the es-7 is considered closed, it's really not a closed phone unless your ears are tiny. i did try them once and not really too comfortable and possibly might leak sound so maybe not the best option for library?

the m50's do seem to be well regarded from what i've read. did you also consider the denon 1001's. based on your criteria and the list of phones, i think it'd be a good option.

I did look at the denon's. They were to bulky imo for wearing out.

Yeah I was kind between the to AT's.

Anyone else?

Well, it looks like somebody here wasn't looking at the screen when typing...

Man, am I glad I was taught to touch type when I was young.

ES7's look and sound good. How long will you use them? They are not comfortable after 40min.

idk for a decent amount of time. Maybe an hour at a time. Longer maybe.

It seems to be down the two Audi Technica headphones.
Are the sony's out? I mean, the AT's are about 30-40$ more so is the quality gonna be that much better?
I don't want sometime to good for my needs either.

I've heard the D1001, V6, and M50, first I was not that impressed with the Sony, I would pick the M50 over it. Second, I don't think the D1001 are as bulky as you think, it's just that the cups are a bit rounder looking, I guess making them look fat in pictures. However, there is very little isolation, so I guess if I were in your situation, my pick would be the M50.

Why not Iems or Yuin Pk3 earbuds? I like my Pk3s and fuze just fine.

M50 out of those. But spacemanspliff has a valid point: why not IEMs?

I hate in ear, I used my friends every time I'm at his place, Ive tried all ear sized, none feel good. I just dont want them simple as that.

Another option was Yuin pk 1-2-3's or whatever the non in ear versions are called but still ear buds. But I figured that the sound quality could be less compared to over ears. Do you recommend these?

if not, still vote for the 2 over ears I have left.

So to narrow it down. Which of the two AT head phones would you get, and is there a major difference between them? Is one clearly better than the other.

And thoughts on the PK's compared to the AT's or in general. Whats the difference between models of the PK's?

On a side note. After looking at info on the pk's. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this btw. But 1 is best to the lowest being 3. So from what I read 3s r entry level. If I'm willing to spend on over ears I'll get pk2's if the sound quality is there. As for the pk1s. I hear these need an amp to sound awesome and I am not going to use an amp. I'll julugolug straight to iPod. That's it. So looks like out of those it's down to the pk2's.

Also correct me if I'm wrong with prices but the m50's are around 130 and the es7's are around 90. Thats a 40$ difference.
If so just for the sack of saving I might cut out the m50's.
And narrow it to the es7's.

eh, Idk why but videos and stuff I've seen of them. They just look thick. And like mentioned, they apparently dont isolate sound that well and in a totally quiet environment I need that best it can be.

Out of the 3 I dropped the sony's. Then I was left with the two AT head phones. If I was right about pricing. I dropped the M50's so now we are in the 90$ range and down to two pairs.
The:
ES7's
and
PK2's

Unless you can give me reason to get the denon's?

Any other suggestions, am I correct about picking the pk2's over the 1 or 3 and correct about the AT headphone pricing?
These will be my FIRST good headphones, coming from apple earbuds. Keep that in mind...also, no amp!
