WA22 Which GZ34 / 5AR4 ?

After some intense tube rolling with my WA22, I settle on Holland made, gray smooth plate, black base, top getter Amperex GZ34/5AR4 and EML 5U4G Mesh Plate for Rectifier. Depends on the music, I swap between them. The amperex is the only GZ34 I have for now.

Now it is about time I am asking for help:

What are the better GZ34/5AR4 tubes? Please describe the construction in detail , and sound if possible.

How about 5AR4GY?

50's metal based GZ34's are the ones to look for.....but prepare for sticker shock.

I have a couple, and they are marvelous sounding tubes. Extended, unlike most other '34's, instruments have a real palpability, and tight, extended bass...with no bloat.

It's the one to look for of that ilk.

Tube that made in Holland and UK sound different?

I have not heard that tube. The one I am referring to is the Philips Holland GZ34 mini-watter. It was made from 1955-58. It can fetch somewhere in the $250 range in good condition, and $500+ NOS.
