Hi everyone,
I just received the parts I ordered from Farnell for my first CMOY. To my horror, I made the mistake of ordering SMD resistors instead of through-hole ones. Question: Can someone who has never soldered a joint in his life learn to solder these tiny SMD resistors without running out of them/stripboards? Or should I not make my first DIY attempt too hard on myself, and acquire the proper resistors before I start?
My soldering iron is the Goot TQ-95 with 2 temperature settings: 20W & 200W. It comes with a standard tip. I'll be using 63/37 solder, on a RadioShack perfboard, following the Tangentsoft tutorial.
All input appreciated. Thanks. Do let me know if I need any additional equipment (such as helping hands w/ magnifiers, etc) if you do recommend that I proceed with the SMD resistors.
