Vote for G08, they are being used as reference CDP by amp makers like Woo, Ray, and that Singlepower guy

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but the Mark Levinson 390s is a great one-box CD player, selling used around $3000. It also includes high quality analog output with remote control, and two additional digital inputs. I've owned mine for years, feeding Headroom Blockhead, and am very pleased (it beats the Benchmark DAC-1, which is the only comparison unit I've had in lately).

I have TRL battery modded Sony 900 player. I have two of them and will sell one ... I'll probably put it on sale / auction this friday on Audiogon etc. Would like to make some donations for Haiti ...

Anyway, folks have compared this to $10k+ systems and favored (all hearsay, I know ...) the TRL.

The players are hard to find and the mods are $1400 (they have probably gone up to $1500).

Let me know if you have interest.
If you do not like I'll refund your money - less all shipping.

Cheers and Good Luck
Sunil.

Best sounding head rig player I have ever heard is the Marantz Ki Pearl. The Pearl has a special headphone synergy to it. Produces the best bass depth and slam in headphones. Best sounding cd/sacd player I have ever heard is the Marantz SA11S2. These are in the $2K-$3K range used to new.
