I mean custom....
Hi to all. I am in the process of building an amp based on the mini3 ( I love my mini.....
)
I am designing it to use the high performance chipset with the following mods:
1, a 14.4 volt 450ma battery pack ( regulated down to 12v )
2, an 1820 digital POT for volume control
3, a defeatable Linkwitz crossfeed ( just to play with.....)
4, (possibly...) a bass boost feature if there is room left on the board.....
This is just a one off that I want to build mainly to play with the add on circuits, but also I am hoping to get longer run times out of the battery pack, (6.48 w/h for rhe lipo vs ~3.0 w/h for thr 9v n/mh)
and the digital pot
Was wondering if anyone had tried this, I have already built the crossfeed, And just fed straight to My mini3 the volume drop isnt quite as much as I expected, So I am thinking for my version I will build it for the 8X gain to get some of it back.
But I was wondering if anyone had tried eliminating R1 and R2 (mini3's input resistors) and feeding it straight from the filter. to keep the gain in propper perspective though I imagine that R3 and R4 would have to be tweeked as well.
Any help is apriciated!
Thanks, Joe
