If desperate, Maplin do a quad core individually screened cable.

thank you all

thanks guys
i have also managed to find this company Audio and Mains Cable and Connectors. Bulk cable and Pre-made solutions. - Live Systems Ltd, Edinburgh, UK.
in scotland selling Vandamme starquad spofc.

I think i will order both and make two just for fun (i know the spofc will be bright but it will be paired with SE530) so for the price it will be a cheap experiment.

I had the VDC stuff arrive yesterday and it is disappointing compared to the Canare.

I have used the Canare as a headphone lead for years, it is soft, supple, smooth and exhibits all the qualities you need in a headphone cable.

The VDC stuff is slightly bloody stiff, despite being sold as a microphone cable it does not spool nicely like string. Also the conductors are not tightly twisted and forcing them to take (and keep) a twist appears to be really hard.

I have about 50 meters of various VDC stuff, all my IC's are VDC two core which is very very soft and supple, I am normally a fan but the Starquad version is not what I want :/
