Fuze vs Ipod 5th gen SQ?

Has anyone heard both and noticed any real noticeable reason to chose one over the other?

I've noticed on most higher end type portable rigs on here most people are using 5th gen iPods it seems. Is this because of good sound quality or because they are easy to buy/make line outs for and have some of the largest storage on a portable player? (like 30gb/60gb/80gb etc, compared to usually 4gb/8gb/16gb)

I was wondering if it's worth buying a 5th gen iPod video as a Fuze replacement, but the Fuze already sounds so good....

Would the iPod sound any better at all? or even worse?

All music would be lossless/320kbps and amped through possibly an iBasso T4 or D2 BOA with a line out either way (The Fuze has a lineout too)

Also turning it into an iMod wont be an option, it would just be a default rockboxed iPod/Fuze

Out of the headphone jack, the Fuze is better. There are plenty of LODs for iPods though, and when you couple that with the large storage and Rockbox they are quite good.

That's good that through HP out alone the Fuze is better, it might be hard to find anyone who has heard them both through line out though to compare as you can't seem to get a Fuze line out without making it DIY unlike an iPod one which can be bought almost anywhere online.

Thanks for your reply
