DAPs with USB digital output?

Are there any? What do you guys of the idea, is it even possible? It would be pretty convenient for those who have USB DACs and want the convenience of moving the DAC around (to a quieter room for instance) and not being restricted to where your computer is located.

On a DAP it's not possible. The player would need a quite robust OS on it to be able to install drivers for a USB DAC that is hooked up to it. Maybe if a DAP would be released in the future based on an Android OS (which is based off of Linux) it would be possible.

People with the same idea as you and are pretty fervent in their venture, usually end up walking around with a UMPC (with a USB DAC connected to it of course).

The closest I've seen are some of the old irivers that still have digital out, which you can plug into something like a D10. I think I've even seen that exact combo on the forums a week ago or something.

Yes the iRiver+D10 is fairly common but that is an optical digital, not usb. I don't think there has ever been a dap that could act as a usb master, the closest are some of the netbooks.
