Larger Ads...

Hi all.

I just noticed the ads on the right side got bigger....

They now take up 1/3 of my screen. Makes the rest of the forum a little compressed for me.
Are they here to say, or is google at fault?

Yes, they did. It's really compressing things on the iPhone that I use 90% of the time.

I am thinking about paying the higher subscription rate to get rid of them.

£54 a year to remove ads?
Good thing my monitors 1920x1200...
If someone rearranges the ads and puts a gap at the top for the wide ones, the sidebars width can be halved..

You know where they can actually put ads? Next to our avatar there is a big empty space between the picture and the 'join date' and 'posts' details. We can actually squeeze one ad for every single post made in the thread.

That's an awesome idea. That means more people post = more ads! I think it will be more effective than the ones on the right hand side, because those one disappear once you scroll down a thread.

Or we can actually modify the forum so it allows people to display a slightly larger picture of their avatar. With larger picture, that makes the empty space a bit bigger too. That means we can put bigger ads! The members will be happy because they are allowed to have bigger avatars, and the sponsors are happy because their ads are also bigger and they are always visible !

The quote button and the others, and edit details should be in the username/display pic bar, and then posts per age upped to 20.
Posting rules should go next to the similar threads bar.
This site has some organisation flaws, and would take maybe 10-15 mins to fix many of the issues once accurately described.

i'm not down with this new format. the forum part with the threads is really narrow.
