Yes, The K701/2 are truly world class (I like the truly world class ) any high end amp like the SPLs and the Luxmans will prove this in a very easy way...to any one.

About the truly world class, you'll get even better confirmation when you compare them to the HD-800, in term of sound quality and price.

You will not regret the DT880, get one

It is a badass 'phone. I would say it is closer to my SR325is than my HD600 in sound. I don't know about K70x, I've never heard one.

No problem Just use good sources and cable. If I put them through a bad cd source then I know its the player. The sony 999es I use for SACD sucks on CD and the 701 let me know it. When I use my Marantz DV6001 or Onkyo DX7555 the sound is incredible on CD.
