UPDATE: These are sold, thanks to everyone who responded!
This is the very desirable Mk2 version of Stax's amazing portable system, and comes complete with everything: original box, manual, brochure, registration card (in Japanese, so I've never registered it), drive unit, and cable/earpiece assembly. I'm also throwing in a bag I got from Thomas Distributing, which is a perfect fit for the SRM-001 and an iPod/iPhone or other similarly sized media player. Also including a short mini-to-mini patch cable, with one end sawed down to fit the first-gen iPhone. This set was purchased from Sugano-san, a fellow head-fi member.
As an additional bonus, this unit has a brand new cable, since the old one started to go (a common problem on these headsets, the ribbon cable is somewhat fragile and prone to any pinching). The cable was replaced, and the drive unit inspected by Morish*ta Associates (they are the sole Stax distributor for North America), and everything brought to factory spec for a sum of $147.50.
Two used but cleaned silicone ear pads included, as well as one brand new unused one (which is good, because one of the used ones is starting to come apart). These ear pads I've found tend to degrade after a couple years, in the past I've ordered my replacements from AudioCubes ($15 per set + $9 shipping). Morish*ta and Associates may also be able to provide you with ear pad replacements, if you need them.
Normally I'd be super sad to see these go, as they served me very well, but since I've upgraded to their big brother the Stax SRS-3020 that makes it a little easier to say good-bye to them
Not that they won't be missed, but its time for them to light up someone else's life, instead of collecting dust next to the 3020's.
Asking price: $210 for the whole set, plus shipping.
Thanks, Jason
PS: If anyone in the bay area would like to do a local pick-up from Sunnyvale that's totally fine by me too.
