All iPod & mainly iPod Touch users, please comment

Hey everyone. I'm hoping to get some detailed info regarding VOLUME levels you listen to your iPods at. I'd prefer responses from iPod touch users. I have The 3rd Gen Touch n I love it. Typing this on it now

I'm looking for mainly portable users that use there iPod with IEM or in ear headphones, or any decent earbud that's non stock apple bud, even grado's and easy to drive full size cans. What is the max volume you listen to music at. I'm sure this varies with The music also and I understand that. But recently I've been using my new Westone 2 IEM and if I don't get a proper seal I need high like 85%+ volumes. But then I have pain and ringing in my ears. So the seal is the biggest factor..

What volume levels do you listen to your iPod at??

Thanks

Usually around 50%. But form some head-/earphones I have to turn up higher, if the isolate less or are less sensitive.

I had to vote 60 - 70% because living in the UK, all my iPods are EU capped.

mine is a Canadian model and with iems, I never rise above 20%, sometimes about 8% and with phones like my Zino, about 40-50%

around 30-40

20-30

About 30-40 % for most. 85 seems way high...

It depends on the music genre. For example, if you listen to rap or rock, you don't want the volume at 80%, but if you're listening to classical, turning it up wont hurt your ears. We all have different ears so, there's no right or wrong answer here. Some ears are sensitive, some aren't.

You should start listening at low volume and let your ears adapt. It really works, try listening at low volume for about 3-4 tracks; you wont even notice that you're listening at low volume.

I almost forgot, the sweet spot of my iPhone is at 35-45%.

While riding on the bus (which is when I do most of my listening) I need to have the volume at about 80%.
Guess the senn CX300 doesn't have the best seal

20-40%

10-20 PERCENT on my ie8,bed time 1%(which can still be loud),with my fx500 30-40% max.

In the uk, listen to rock at lowish volumes. Seems fine. Certainly it's rare to push the slider past the pause toggle on screen

With my IE8s on an iPod touch 1st gen, about 30-40%

30% is the max for me, usually 20% or below.

(for iPod Touch 2nd gen + IE7)

85% is WAY too loud IMO

These are the volumes I listened to the IEM's below at with my Ipod Touch 2G, which was loud enough even on the subway/bus:

Westone UM3X - absolute minimum the Touch can go and still produce a sound
Shure SE530 - same as above
Sennheiser - 15%... since its a dynamic driver and not armature

You are definitely doing something wrong. Armature based buds are extremely sensitive and get very loud.
