I'm finally getting around to selling my Technics SL-1700 Direct Drive turntable, complete with dust cover and Grado MT+ Cartridge. I also have the factory stylus alignment tool and the original box, and I'm the original owner. The dust cover has the usual scuffs but otherwise the turntable is in very good condition.
The SL-1700 is one of a series of quality turntables they made in the late 70's I think. The SL-1700 is semi-automatic, which means that the motor starts when you move the arm over the record, and the arm will automatically pick up when the record is finished playing, which is real handy.
I'll post some pictures soon, but here is a link to one of their ads: Technics SL-1700
Price Drop: $105 plus shipping.
I also have a Adcom Crosscoil XC high output moving coil cartridge that is mounted in a Supex headshell that can plug into the Technics arm. I used this cartridge for critical listening and the Grado for more background listening. Their weight was matched so that the arm settings could remain the same for either one. The Adcom sold for $240 new and was highly regarded at the time. I'm not sure what it and the headshell are worth but make an offer if you're interested.
