Should I get Nano, or other player that does AAC?

I was planning on getting a 16GB Nano, but I'd like to explore other options as well, at equal or lesser cost. I have a lot of AACs, so I need to be able to play those. I have about 10 gigs of music and 2 gigs of podcasts now.

I was thinking the Sansa View looked like a good choice, since it costs less and is also expandable with cards. However, I read some people say the sound quality isn't as good as other Sansa's; how does it compare to the Nano? I have some decent home speakers, nothing super-high end but I'd ideally like to use the Ipod for home listening. I also have some Sennheiser HD497.

I want something that will be a decent investment, not something I'll throw away in a couple years. I was thinking the Sansa's card slot would help with that.

The Sansa Fuze could be expanded to 16GB, but it doesn't appear to play AAC. Sony has a 16GB Walkman NWZS545BLK that plays AAC.

Will I be disappointed by losing the Apple interface for something else?

I'm sure this stuff has been asked before, but I don't hang around here.

Rockboxed players can playback AAC. Any here of interest?

I don't think so. I don't want to mess around with stuff like that.

Any iPod (non-nano) will play AAC as well.
But if I was you I would just get a 16GB iPod nano. Nice little player . . .

Then look for a device without an embedded battery.

Well, why not give a try to the 16GB Zune HD that plays AAC?

it is 10 more than the price of the 16GB nano at Amazon (189.99)
Amazon.com: Zune HD 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black): Electronics

or at newegg for $199.99
Newegg.com - Microsoft Zune HD 3.3" Black 16GB MP3 / MP4 Player
