I'm pretty stoked with my collection!!!

Hello,

I'm pretty stoked! I think my quest for a reasonably perfect headphone-based music setup is finally coming to a culmination. I just received a laptop that I'm using solely as my music server. I bought a DacMagic from a fellow Head-Fier that should be here soon. I ordered the Headamp Gilmore Lite from Justin that I'm hoping will be here before year's end. I have an 1TB external drive for additional storage.

I have three terrific headphones in the Grado HF-2, the AKG K-701 and the Senn HD 650. Plus I have the Denon 1001and the RE0 as my portable setup to use with my iPod and iBasso D2+ Boa. I think that'll leave the Headroom Micro Amp the odd amp out. The Nuforce Icon Mobile will go to my brother.

For under $4k I have what I think will be an excellent system. And with that should slow my pursuit for equpiment and I will now spend more of my efforts towards expanding my music. I really want to discover more genres. Try new music and learn more about the artisanship. Of course there are other headphones and amps. But I think I hit on a setup that doesn't leave for wanting too much. It's certainly one I am proud of.
Without Head-Fi I could have never put this together. All the effort the people here put out to help others towards the goal of finding their perfect headphone(s) is truly impressive and appreciated by me.

I just want to thank everyone here for making it a pleasure. I just hope I can help others in any small way I can in appreciation for everything I've gained from Head-Fi and the community.

Thanks for reading!

Ross

Nice stuff, enjoy it until you get the upgrade bug.

^really. You'll start wondering about some AT woodies or the 800s in no time. Maybe the K1K. And a beta-22.

Congratulations on coming to a stage at which you're happy.
Now you can stop worrying about the equiptment/journey and enjoy the music!

i'm very content with my current rig but i still want to try new headphones, amps, sources.

Four great choices: HF-2/701/650/D1001. Very nice spread, you've got something nearly perfect for every application and genre. Plus U.S., Austria, Germany, Japan, good balance there too.

But you have been bitten by the bug, and you will buy more. Wait until you hear your first Stax, or Baby Orpheus.

Nonsense. You still have perfectly serviceable organs that you can sell off on the black market. It's not like you need both kidneys to enjoy music right?

you should try indie/folk/alt. highly underrated IMHO. try these out and see if they treat you right:

sufjan steven- seven swans
neutral milk hotel - aeroplane over the sea
born ruffians - red, yellow, & blue

i know this thread isn't primarily about recommending new music to you, but i thought i'd do it anyways. lol.

oh, and sorry about your wallet.

Have you considered vacuum tubes and vinyl?

*insert evil laughter*

I don't see the HD800 there. And then the move into electrostatics. HE60/90 are right around the corner.

Unfotunately I had a heart attack back in October and had stents put in. I'm not sure they'll let me sell a kidney yet.
