MP3 player instead of iPod Nano 3G!

Hi!
I would like to buy a new mp3 player instead of my 2 year old iPod Nano 3g.
The most importent is the SQ. I have a Klipsch S4.
I have heard some people say that the Sansa Fuze is would be good.
Do you know an mp3 player which is better than the Fuze for me?
I don't need video and extras, just good sq. And the price: over 250$.
So please, help me with this problem.

Thanks.

If you have an unlimited budget, consider the HiFiMAN 801.

But if you want a cheaper DAP, go for either the Cowon S9 or the Sony X-series.

The Cowon S9 and the Sony X.. has touch screen and a lot of function and i dont need any of them. Id like to buy a cheaper i read a lot about this, and there was plus the Cowon x5. But its design is not for me.
Iam looking for a compact player with very good sq, and not for a multimedia player.

If you want a portable DAP that works as well as everything else rule out completely the HIFIMAN 801. It is not an Ipod/Sony/etc competeter. I'm sure it sounds wonderful, not as good as my Nad system but then thats not portable either. HIFIMAN is no Ipod. Buy a new 16gb Ipod or sony X, the sq is not that far apart.

Sansa Fuze + a 16GB microSD card or two = A great starting point. You're not going to do much better in terms of SQ for the price invested. Can play videos and has an FM radio but, of course, nobody says you have to use those aspects.

Sansa Clip+ + a 16GB microSD card or two + a nice set of IEMs = Fantastic starting point, build on it with the IEMs and never look back.

X2 on the Fuze, I do like the expandable memory of the fuze, and only use mine for music, but with your budget, I'd want to give sony a chance.

Something compact expect Fuze?

The Cowon I9 could be an interesting DAP for you. Not many reviews yet but a Cowon never fails on SQ.

Yes but would it better than the Fuze?...
I dont know. And probably it will be more expensive.

8gb Sansa Clip+. Very basic with great features and with a microsd card it can be upgraded up to 40 gb. In my opinion, it's sort of better than the fuze because of the size. Even though the fuze can support video, it's playback capabilities are poor so there really isn't much of an advantage of its size if video isn't its strong point.

Just today I ordered the Sony PCM-M10.

I can't wait to get it.

I'm expecting EXCELLENT sound quality with this device. Drag-n-drop native USB mass storage. MicroSD and Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot.

Clip+ and micro SD card. Nothing too fancy, but it has great SQ.

It's too expensive for me, my budget is 200$.

So the question: Is there a better sounding dap than Fuze, over 200$?
Are the Sonys better, or i won't find better than the Fuze?

You'll find better in the Cowon S9/D2 and most Sony DAPs.
Just consider the multimedia stuff a bonus.
